Born in Iowa, received a Bachelor of Science, Elementary Education from Iowa State Unviversity. Taught 3rd grade, Students with Learning Disabilites, Middle and High School. Earned a Masters of Arts, Special Eduation from Ball State University.
Local Site and national trainer for American Federation's "Thinking Mathematics" program. Recepient of the Milken National Educator Award in 1993.
Taught 8th grade math and Algebra for 9 years. Have served as the mathematics program assistant/coordinator for the 15 middle schools in EPISD since December 2002. Served on the National Assessment Governing Board from 1998-2002. Served on many other eduational boards. I have been a member of the K-16 Working group for the El Paso Cooperative for the past four years.
Married over thirty-one years and have one adult daughter. 


Teaching mathemaatics K-8. especially. Planning and delevering effective staff development. Writing standards and curriculum frameworks. Working with all levels of students, including college undergraduates and graduates. 


Nothing recent. I was part of a group that wrote a chapter in the NCTM book" Windows of Opportunity."
